E.S. Wesley
E.S. Wesley writes YA and Middle Grade sci-fi/fantasy. He tried writing the contemporary, emotional stuff once, and it didn’t work out. He likes intricate plots, crazy ideas, and characters who have a lot of growing up to do–just like him. He also likes talking to people, and learning how they tick.

Sean Easley has moved to seaneasley.com, where he's working on some exciting middle grade fictionI’m the author of the upcoming YA sci-fi The Outs, coming in 2017 from Curiosity Quills Press. It’s a book about an accidental kidnapper, a comic book fan who can’t speak, and a little girl with the power to change the world. Oh, and the memory-stealing blackouts all over the world don’t help anything, either.

I’ve been writing since elementary school, when my third grade teacher discovered the only way to keep me from falling out of my chair from boredom was to give me writing projects. I wrote a book of poetry, and life would never be the same.

In high school I wrote a couple novels that no one should ever read unless they want to burn their eyes out with a hot iron. In college, one of my professors read another novel of mine and told me it felt like a stream of boulders falling on her head, but she encouraged me to keep going. I did, and now I have a real book coming out. Yay.

The idea of what makes a hero has always fascinated me, especially since people are so flawed. You’ll see a lot of that in my writing. You’ll also see some pretty crazy concepts that fascinate me, along with some reality bending. I like to bend reality. It’s my happy place.

I live in Texas with my wife, hammering away at the keys as we speak. Texas has a lot of things in it that I like, but Shelly is the best of them. Every guy should have a girl like her, but if they did I wouldn’t be able to know just how wonderfully fortunate I am to have found her and wedded her after eight great years of friendship.

People who know me are often surprised I say I’m an introvert, because I love people. When you love people, you can fake being an extrovert a lot. My background is in teaching and mentoring young people and helping kids navigate life (thirteen-plus years). That’s why I’m in this business–if anyone can benefit from the words I put to the page, then it’s all worth it.

Keep up with me, and I’d love to share stories with you and listen to yours as well. You can find me on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram (and, as always, here on eswesley.com).
